Statement of Faith

This is the our statement of faith, as documented in our church bylaw.

what we believe about

There is one True God, eternally existing in three persons Father, Son and Holy Spirit-each of Whom possesses equally all the attributes of Deity and the characteristics of personality.  He is the Lord of the universe and creator of Heaven and earth and all things.  (2 Corinthians 13:14; Genesis 1:1)

Jesus Christ is God's only Son, who became flesh through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth through Mary.  He voluntarily atoned for the sins of men by dying on the cross.  He rose from the dead on the third day, and He ascended bodily into heaven.  He will return as promised.  He is the only mediator between God and man.  And He alone is Savior of men, the Head of the church.  (Luke 1:35; John 1:1, 2, 14; 1 Peter 1:3-5)

The Holy Spirit is the comforter sent by God.  He came to convict sinners and draw them to Christ.  The Spirit dwells in the heart of those who believe and empowers them to understand & obey God’s truth.  (Titus 3:5; John 14:16; John 16: 12-13)

what we believe about the

All Scripture - the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament - are given by the plenary inspiration of God.  The Bible is the supreme and final authority on the Christian life, and is absolutely infallible and trustworthy.  (2 Timothy 3:16‑17)

what we believe about

We believe that man was originally created in the image of God.  But by Adam’s actions, we fell and became sinners.  In order to be saved, we must believe in Jesus Christ as the sole means of forgiveness to be righteous.  Salvation is through grace and our faith, not through our own works.  (Romans 3:22-23; Ephesians 2:1-3, 8-10)

We believe that whoever believes that Jesus Christ is God’s only Son who came in the flesh will receive eternal life.  Those who do not believe will receive eternal judgment.  (John 5:29)

what we believe about

We believe the church is the body of Christ, of which He is the head.  The church is composed of all believers, cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ by faith. God instructs His people to assemble together regularly for worship, for participation in ordinances, for edification through the Scriptures, and for mutual encouragement.  (Ephesians 1:23; Ephesians 2:18-19; 1 Timothy 3:15)

what we believe about

We believe that the definition of marriage is in accordance to the principles of the Bible stating that marriage is between one man and one woman as husband and wife. (Genesis 2:20-25; Matthew 19:4-5; Mark 10:6-9; Ephesians 5:31)

We believe that in accordance to the principles of the Bible, sexual relations shall only occur within the marriage between husband and wife (Levi 18:22, 20:13; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9)
